The vision of the Jerusalem Variety Center
Jerusalem Variety Center (JVC) aimed to allow children with special needs and their families equal opportunities in the future, through educational and social activities, and financial support. JVC believes in the right of every child to have access to the most professional tools in helping unleash their talents and abilities and to promote their integration into society as much as possible. For JVC, its operation is a social mission and all its workers do their jobs with dedication, efficiency and professional expertise in order to fulfill the vision of the center.
The Jerusalem Variety Center is a unique institution. It offers treatments and support under one roof to children from the age of 1 year to 21 years, living in Jerusalem and its surrounding area. We accept and treat hundreds of children with special needs together with ordinary children in the Israeli society: Arabs, Jews, Religious and Non-Religious as well. All of them enjoy social and educational activities and share interesting and enriching experiences.
The Jerusalem Variety Center is part of the International Variety Organization and operates with cooperation with its Israeli branch. Variety’s International Organization focuses on financial assistance to children with special needs.
The main goals of the Jerusalem Variety Center is determined by the following guidelines
Improving and promoting the well-being and quality of life of children with special needs and their families
Offering equal services to children from different social sectors and from all ethnic groups in our population
Promoting tolerance and social acceptance of those who are different in order to enable the equal integration of Variety’s children, hoping to achieve a change in people’s attitude and behavior in society
Establishing and operating various high quality services under one roof, to treat different disabilities at the highest professional level
Jerusalem Variety Center has been a leading professional organization for two decades, caring for children with special needs. Jerusalem Variety Center believes in the right of every child to have access to the most professional tools in helping unleash their talents and abilities and to promote their integration into society as much as possible.
There are Hundreds of children Jews and Arabs, Religious and non-religious that enjoy the programs of the center every month
Jerusalem Variety Center runs several programs.
There are 14 kindergartens where normal children and children with special needs are joined together in class: Children with Down syndrome, mental retardation and development delays, language disorders and more.
'Tzmicha' (Growth) – Child Development Center provides paramedical treatments for children with autism. 'Tzmicha' provides psychological treatments, speech therapy, occupational therapy and emotional therapy for children with ASD (Autistic spectrum disorder) and their families and also operates diagnostic center for children with mental retardation.
A multidisciplinary program for diagnosis and treatment of children with ASD– is run by a team of experts experienced in the treatment of children in the autistic spectrum. The program provides treatment, as well as psychological and emotional care for the families including gaudiness for the educational team at the child's kindergarten in which he in integrated.
The enrichment club – an afternoon program that provides support to children with Special Needs and children at risk, through Enrichment Activities in a variety of fields: arts, cceramic, ccarpentry, sports, motion and drama; the children come from educational or therapeutic groups, shelters for battered women and foster families.
